Digital sovereignty or digital colonization

When an Ecuadorian company uses a foreign AI tool, it does not just pay a subscription. It cedes its data, its processes, and its audit capacity. At SomaTech LAT we do not sell black boxes. We publish every line of code. Your infrastructure runs where you decide. Your data never leaves your control.

AI does not replace humans. It empowers them.

We do not believe in unsupervised automation. We believe in agents that do repetitive work so humans can do the work that matters: decide, create, empathize. A lawyer who reviews 100 contracts a day is not a better lawyer. A lawyer who lets AI review the 99 obvious ones, and focuses on the complex case, is.

Open source is not charity. It is strategy.

Proprietary software charges you to use it. Open source charges you to improve it. That means you can audit what runs on your server, modify it for your specific case, and never depend on our good will to keep it alive. Apache 2.0 is not a license. It is a contract of trust.

Ecuador as a laboratory, Latin America as scale.

Ecuador has everything it needs to be an AI laboratory: dollarized economy, local technical talent, clear regulations (LOPDP, SRI), and real problems to solve. If it works in Quito, it works in Lima. If it works in Guayaquil, it works in Mexico City. We build from here to export there.
